ANNA THORUNN FEED ME BOWL

The sculptural and tactile Feed Me Bowl, by Icelandic designer Anna Thorunn, is inspired by a news story about a raven couple that built a nest for their young in Reykjavík. The angular shapes of the bowl evoke images of the young with their beaks wide open, which Anna has translated into an object that functions as a bowl but also as a symbol for feeding and caring. The bowl is functional on both sides - perfect for your favorite nibbles.

Materials: White ware ceramic. Dimensions: L 20 cm x W 20 cm x H 17 cm.

About the designer:

Anna Thorunn Hauksdóttir is one of Iceland´s most talented and prestigious product designers. She graduated with a BA in product design from Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2007. Since then she has been designing and producing under her own label ANNA THORUNN. Her designs are very personal, ignited from her heart and transformed through life experience and emotions. Developed with her never ending curiosity and fascination of form and texture, the simplicity and elegance of Anna´s designs send you on an uplifting and inspiring journey. Anna lives and works in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Anna creates playful and conceptual products with a focus on storytelling. "My childhood dream was to become a cowboy or a fighter pilot. A little later it was to become a world famous ballet dancer. For some weird reasons these dreams did not materialize, yet I feel like I am living my dream every day. Objects of all sizes and shapes captivate my imagination. All things weird and grotesque are a constant source of inspiration and the experience of seeing a rough sketch on a piece of paper turn into a completed work of design, is magical to me every single time. From the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep my mind is at work, reshaping everything I see and touch."
