Menu is coming to PAD, and we're not referring to a list of dishes available in a restaurant. Recipients of the 2014 Wallpaper Magazine Design award and world-renowned Danish design house, Menu is a truly remarkable brand. Founded in 1976, it has collaborated with some of the most talented designers in the world. Menu’s mission is to make design “matter”, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the fine details of its collection of Scandinavian design objects and furniture.

Inspired by lifestyle behaviours and the way we live, Menu works creatively with a range of different materials, to create products that are not only stylish and modern, but also highly functional. In addition to ensuring unique design in looks, method and use, Menu strives to locate partners in developing countries throughout the world. Providing many communities with a better economic function is of the utmost importance to the brand.

One of Menu’s 75+ teams, designer duo SKOS-BERLIN, describes perfectly the art of the brand and its own design sensibility and ideals: “We design as an art of storytelling. The story is normally quite complex, consisting of semantics, morphology, materiality, technology and many other elements. But the clearer your story is the more likely people are to understand it. The more surprising you make your story, the more likely they are to remember it. And finally, the more you make people smile-the more likely they are to love it!”

PAD is launching an amazing range by Menu in the Edinburgh studio and online in only a few weeks time, and we can't wait! Stay tuned...
